The IP Intercoms of the InterLAN-EO family have a plastic housing with IP44 degree of protection; their simple and functional design makes them suitable for use in all locations where environmental conditions are not critical, such as offices, commercial premises or residential buildings; they can either be placed on a surface, such as a desk, or fixed to a wall. |
For installation in more severe environmental situations, such as industrial plants, a family of
industrial IP Intercoms is available with a rugged metal housing.
These IP Intercoms use the same Peer-To-Peer protocol for audio transfer as the other IP communication
equipment produced by ERMES and can therefore be used in a system in conjunction with any of them.
Each intercom is native IP and uses only the data network for communication between the devices and manages directly the
connection to it without the need for interfaces of any kind and without the need for a server on which to install management
software or central units of any kind.
The table-top intercoms shown below are usually used at the main stations to which the communications from all the equipment
installed in the system or a sub-group of them are directed.
However, since in Peer-To-Peer systems the main stations do not have system management functions, these consoles can be used,
for example, when it is necessary to be able to communicate between all stations, regardless of their number.
In this case the version of desktop intercoms will be used, which have a combination keypad with an alphanumeric display to
select the users to be connected.
This intercom is usually used in a hands-free version with a gooseneck microphone, but is also available in a version with an
integrated microphone on the front or with a handset; it integrates with all EASY intercoms of the standard and industrial
series.
The most commonly used version uses a 12-key direct dialling keypad to select the device to be connected and to control all
other functions. This can be expanded with additional units, each of which manages a further 12 keys.
For systems with a large number of terminals, in order to limit the space occupied by the console, a version is available in
which the terminals are selected using a numeric keypad, 4 function keys and an LCD display.
In public address systems it is possible to use these consoles as a microphone unit driving the amplified gateways of the
SoundLAN family; for this use the version with gooseneck microphone is of more friendly use. In addition, all versions are
equipped with an audio input that allows an auxiliary microphone to be connected.
The data network cable connects to an RJ45 socket that supports POE power; if the switch to which the console is connected does
not support this feature, it is possible to power the intercom with 24VDC.
